Both terms are similar in meaning and encompass what we do at Eclipse. All our practitioners work together as a team and complement one another’s strengths. Our patients are looking to supplement “conventional” medicine with treatment and approaches that are not considered “mainstream”. For example, nutritional therapy.

Functional medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease using a symptom-based approach with a patient-centered focus.

MD’s at Eclipse are trained and licensed in conventional medicine. Both ND’s and MD’s at Eclipse use bloodwork and imaging, amongst other modalities, to diagnosis. We blend but do not replace conventional diagnostics.

Your first visit will consist of a one-on-one intake meeting with an Eclipse practitioner. This will include a thorough discussion around your health history, touching on all aspects of your physical, mental and emotional health, your lifestyle and your diet. If needed, we will discuss possible diagnostics options. We will complete a treatment plan based on your history and individual needs.

All the more reason to see one of our doctors! Not all remedies are safe to take with prescription medications. We are trained in side effects and contraindications, bloodwork, medicine and natural remedies.
